Driving Under

Season 1 | Episode 01 (07:26)

SAN FRANCISCO, USA - 5 MINUTES BEFORE IT HAPPENED Prologue: Fragments of news reports show a future world as it adopts H+: a radical new way to be connected to information and each other through only your thoughts, via a high-tech implant. While the breakthrough is hotly anticipated by the masses, it is a change not easily adopted by its discontents. We segue to a couple parking their car in an underground airport garage. The husband, Lee, surreptitiously watches a football game on his H+, upsetting his wife Julie who wants him to drive safely. Their domestic squabble is interrupted by a bizarre spectacle throwing their world into chaos.

  • Not available in Italy too… Why????

Seriously, what is the point of broadcasting a show on the Web if it’s not to broadcast it worldwide?

You cannot watch it in Germany either. I assumme that inly viewers in the US can watch it. What a pity.

I’m new to this WebSeries thing and after checking out several of them, this is the best I’ve found so far. I only wish the “webisodes” were longer. Great show though, hope it lasts!

  • Fix

Czech Republic is fine too :).

I want those hours I wasted watching this turd back. Even viewed chronologically, it’s the barest skeleton of a story. If I had read this in a book, I’d have thrown it across the room. Snips and vignettes do not a movie (or mini-series, or web serial) make. You could drive a fleet of 18 wheelers through the plot holes in this story. It’s one thing to make your audience think, it’s quite another to omit almost all relevant detail and just leave the audience hanging.

I hope the reply to this isn’t that this is one of those multi-modal-media things and that I have to waste innumerable more hours reading websites, following breadcrumbs and other such nonsense. Those things have never enjoyed much in the way of an audience, other than those few lonely souls with nothing better to do but troll the interwebs for “clues”.

Don’t get me wrong – the filmography was generally well done throughout, though clearly on a budget (except for that last scene in the data center, which also cemented over any chance of this recovering from being stillborn). The acting was generally good, no complaints there. Randomizing the time order in wasn’t “clever” or “neuveau”, just a lame attempt at making it interesting which failed badly. I could go for hours about the plot holes, but I’m not wasting another moment on this… thing.

Beware, if you have any standards of storytelling, continuity or character development you won’t be finding any of that here. It’s like eating a water sandwich.

    • I’m the opposite: I want to have never watched it so that I can have the pleasure of watching it again for the first time. The storytelling is complex and sophisticated and it embraces deep themes with elan.
