Code STEMI: Sioux Falls South Dakota
In a place where there are 824,000 people and 77,000 square miles, south Dakota has some challenges when it comes to providing timely and adequate care for STEMI patients. Luckily the American Heart Association was granted 8.4 million dollars from the Helmsley Charitable Trust to improve the STEMI System of Care in a rural state where 100% of the transporting agencies are now transmitting 12 Leads. 80% of those agencies are volunteer basic life support ambulances.
